We are pleased to inform you that Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has awarded Robi Axiata Limited to collect subscriber’s bills through Mobile Phone. In Bangladesh, BPDB has 6 (six) zones and out of 6 zones, Robi Axiata Limited has been granted to receive subscriber bill from 3 (three) zones. “Bill Pay” is a service that will help customers to pay their utility bills through Robi mobile phone.

The scope of the work is to develop an infrastructure for an electronic electricity bill payment system through mobile technology at the 3 (three) distribution zones of BPDB. Bill collection shall be through POS and mobile handsets, reconciliation and data transfer will take place electronically.
 

Coverage Zones

Robi’s zones cover the following geographical areas for bill collection:
1. Comilla (6 Districts) : Comilla, Noakhali, Brahmanbaria, Feni, Chandpur, Lakshmipur. (Since 29/12/2009)
2. Rajshahi (8 Districts) : Rajshahi , Natore , Pabna , Naugaon , Bogra, Chapai- Joypurhat, Sirajgong. (Since 15/10/2014)
3. Mymensingh (6 Districts): Mymensingh, Tangail , Jamalpur, Sherpur, Nathrokuna. Kishorgong. (To be launched on 15/11/2014)

It is a service which will help customers to pay their BPDB electricity bills from BPDB Bill Pay logo signed points/POSs’ (More than 1,500 points are spreading over three regions) as well as from their own Robi mobile phones round the clock (24/7).

Customer Supports

1. Utility Bill Pay through own mobile phone.
2. Utility Bill Pay through BPDB Bill Pay logo signed POSs’/agents/points for Robi subscribers and other mobile phone subscribers.
3. No need to stand in the long queue of bank(s) to pay utility bills.
4. Most secure service, monitored by both Robi and BPDB.
5. Greater number of points/POSs’ in the locality to save customer valuable time.
6. Instant update of BPDB's database after mobile payment.

This service will facilitate Robi M-money activity to grow under Digital Services Division and Axiata Digital Service initiative.
